our story.

This house is a special place. Launching in 2005, Northside Church (a once abandoned location) is now more alive than ever before.

Hendersonville, North Carolina

It was a traditional, old fashion tent revival in the mountains of western North Carolina when Pastor Scott Owens was in attendance, along with this family and many others from their church congregation. During the evening service, a pastor from Sanderson, Texas, Pastor Paul Ray, stood up in-front of hundreds of people and shared news about a little church in Fort Stockton, Texas that was not open and had not been in operation in over five years. God used that moment to speak to Pastor Scott’s heart and planted a seed that would soon turn into a calling for him to pack up his family and move to west Texas and re-open Northside Baptist Church.

Fort Stockton, Texas

September 25, 2005, Northside Baptist Church had its first Sunday worship experience in the fellowship hall of the old building without the use of electricity and running water. With an attendance of 10 people on that hot Sunday morning, God saved one person. From that point on, Northside Church has grown from a family of 10 to a family of over 200 weekly attendees. We have seen God bring salvation to so many souls and we have witnessed God’s grace at work in and all around us. Northside Church is now one of the most active churches in Fort Stockton with a thriving ministry that continues to grow every week.
